HABs Monitoring
Harmful Algal Blooms in recent years have prompted HABs monitoring initiatives along the west shore. Prompt identification and reporting is an important element in understanding and responding to HABs.
Learn about HABs on Cayuga here.
Hydrilla Monitoring
WSNA volunteers assist in the efforts to watch for the spread of Hydrilla and to report the invasive species to the lake-wide database. The more residents with watchful eyes, the better our chances to remove Hydrilla.
Learn about Hydrilla Hunters here.
Lakeside Living Handbook
“Lakeside Living in a Changing Climate” is a 22-page informational booklet to guide lakeside homeowners through
climate-smart and environmentally friendly home and living practices.

Lake Water Levels
You can monitor current and projected lake levels through the NYS Barge Canal website, or via a current levels chart:

Propane Co-Op
Save 16% to 24% on propane by joining the Propane Co-Op. We have partnered with Ferrell Gas to provide Co-Op prices. WSNA members can save hundreds of dollars annually by simply joining the Co-Op.

Cayuga Lake Water Testing
WSNA volunteers organize monthly water testing each summer season. By doing this for many years now, we have established a baseline of water quality and continued testing allows us to quickly see changes.

Safe Boating
If you have concerns about safe boating, the following are links to best practices and regulations that govern boating safety.

Dock IDs
Dock IDs help EMTs in the case of an emergency on the lake that requires vehicle access for rescue. It is simple to install an ID on your dock so that boaters can know if there is emergency access.
